Data we collect
- Contact form fields: name, email, optional estimate type, hardware summary, message
- Correspondence and session notes needed to deliver a written estimate
- Technical logs such as IP address and browser type when you visit the site
- Cookie preferences stored in your browser (see Cookies)
We do not ask for seed phrases, exchange passwords, private keys, or payment card numbers via the website form.
Purposes
We use data to respond to enquiries, schedule and deliver consultations, improve site reliability, and meet legal obligations. Analytics cookies (if accepted) help us understand aggregate traffic.
Legal bases
Where the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (PDPO) and, if applicable, other regimes apply, we rely on contractual necessity to deliver booked sessions, legitimate interests in operating a secure site, and consent for non-essential cookies.
Retention
Enquiry messages without a booked session are typically retained up to 24 months. Session files and invoices are retained up to 7 years for accounting and dispute purposes, then deleted or anonymised unless law requires longer retention.
Sharing
We use infrastructure providers (hosting, email) who process data on our instructions. We do not sell personal data. We may disclose information if required by Hong Kong law or to protect rights and safety.
International transfers
If a processor stores data outside Hong Kong, we take reasonable steps to ensure appropriate safeguards consistent with applicable requirements.
Your rights
Subject to the PDPO and other applicable law, you may request access to and correction of your personal data, and ask us to erase or restrict processing where appropriate. Email info@automatedorch.digital with “Privacy request” in the subject. You may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data, Hong Kong.
Children
Services are aimed at adults. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16.
Changes
We may update this policy by posting revisions here with an updated effective context. Material changes to consultation data practices will be communicated to active clients by email when practical.
